How severity is scored

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the risk score calculated?
Score = Likelihood × Impact. Both are rated from 1 to 5, producing a score between 1 and 25. This is the standard qualitative approach used in PMBOK risk analysis.
What do the severity bands mean?
The tool groups scores into four bands: Low (1–4), Medium (5–9), High (10–14) and Critical (15–25). These bands help you decide how far and how fast to escalate each risk.
What response strategies can I choose?
You can assign one of the four classic strategies to each risk: Avoid, Mitigate, Transfer, or Accept. You can also record an owner for accountability.
Can I export the risk register?
Yes. Click “Export CSV” to download the full register (risk description, likelihood, impact, score, severity band, response, and owner) for use in your steering pack or RAID log.
Is my risk data stored or sent anywhere?
No. Everything runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is saved on a server or transmitted anywhere.
